The third phase of the Skanska - High5ive office complex is underway. The final building with an area of over 11,000 sq m will be the first Skanska office building in Krakow with a WELL certificate, awarded to healthy and comfortable workplaces.
The Spark C office building in Warsaw was the first in Poland to obtain the demanding WELL Core & Shell Certification. This means that the building met a number of strict criteria related to health, well-being and comfort of work. The certificate was granted by the International WELL Building Institute (IWBI). In addition, the Skanska Group’s office located in Spark C obtained the LEED Commercial Interior certification at the highest platinum level. Thus, this innovative office building can already boast of five of the most important multi-criteria building assessment certificates on the market.
Skanska office unit in Poland summed up the construction of the Silesia Business Park complex in Katowice. The construction of the first of the four buildings began in 2013. Now, on the site of the former Baildon steelworks, there are 4 buildings, which symbolise the transformation of Katowice into an important centre of services for business, consulting and IT in Poland. Silesia Business Park has been chosen by, among others, PwC, Capgemini, TUV Rheinland and Accenture.
Skanska will build 1 900 m2 of pavement made of the so-called "green concrete", which cleans the air from harmful substances from car exhaust fumes, around the third and fourth building of the High5ive complex in Krakow. The first part of the pavement will be commissioned later this year.
Skanska has started work on the third building of Nowy Rynek complex in Poznan. The 14-storey office building will have a total leasable area of around 27,000 square meters. The development also includes the underground parking levels for both the third and the fourth building.
Skanska Commercial Development Europe has sold a portfolio of four office buildings in two Polish regional cities. A fund managed by the Swedish fund manager Niam has purchased two investments in Krakow, Kapelanka 42 A and Axis, as well as buildings A and B at the Silesia Business Park complex in Katowice. This is the largest sales transaction conducted this year in the CEE office market and the largest transaction in the history of Skanska's activity in this region.
Global business law firm DLA Piper has signed a lease agreement for ca. 4,000 sqm of office space in Atrium 2. The scheme, developed by Skanska Property Poland, is in close proximity to the ONZ Roundabout in Warsaw. With the completion of this agreement, DLA Piper becomes the building's first tenant six months before its completion scheduled for Q1 2016.
